I will break into your thoughts With what's written on my heart I will break, break
Faith had a lot of time to think as she walked from the warehouse to the hotel. She turned things over in her mind several times...but couldn't find anyway around what her 'mission' was. And you know what the biggest problem she was having was? What if she couldn't do it? What if she liked it too much? These questions haunted her thoughts as she strode down various streets and alleys, one hand tucked into a pocket of her leather pants, while the other carried a steady stream of cigarettes up to her lips. As she neared the hotel, she came across a small group of vampires-no more than seven. She dusted three before they finally agreed to listen to her. And they liked her plan.
I'm so sick, Infected with where I live Let me live without this Empty bliss, Selfishness I'm so sick I'm so sick
After she left the vampires waiting in the spot she'd chosen, she finished her walk up to the hotel and stepped quietly in through the doors of the lobby, glancing around. No Buffy in sight-she gave a faint sigh of relief at that. Somehow, Faith had the feeling Buffy would hate this as much as she did. But she did see Danielle and Becky, two potentials. Fixing a smile onto her lips, she sauntered over to them, noting that they looked bored. "Man, you potentials must really be gettin' tired of hangin' around this dirty old place, huh?" The younger of the two, Becky, looked up. She looked up to Faith, and adoration shined clearly in her bright green, trusting gaze. She inwardly vowed to find a pair of blood red leather pants exactly like the ones Faith wore. The matching top was totally hip, too. "Hi, Faith! Um...yeah. I was just talking to Dani about it. 'Cause...you know? We've been doing all this training and stuff...and we may not have the Slayer power like you and Buffy...but some of us feel ready to fight. We feel like we're just..." "Waiting to be picked off?" The girls nodded, and Faith tossed her latest cigarette onto the floor, stamping it out absently.
If you want more of this We can push out, sell out, die out So you'll shut up And stay sleeping With my screaming in your itching ears
"Found a nest. Wanna go huntin'?" At their eager nods, she steeled herself. "Good. Go grab a few of the other girls who are gettin' nervous, and meet me out front." She leaned in all conspiratorial-like. "And hey...let's keep this just in our lil group, mkay? Don't want any party crashers." In less than ten minutes, a group of five girls had assembled outside, grabbing a few weapons, and awaiting Faith. She had, of course, detoured to the kitchen for something to eat, and finished chewing the last of her chips as she stepped outside. She crossed her arms over her chest, looking them over, then gave them a smile. "Let's go." It didn't take long for her to lead them to the spot. The vampires were laying in wait, waiting to see if she'd follow through on her end of the bargain-they would also make good witnesses for the First...though, Faith had a feeling it was watching. As she stepped into the small area, she spun, suddenly, and sent a high kick towards the neck of the girl behind her, Becky. The force of the kick instantly broke her voice box, and sent her flying back into Dani and another girl. As the final two teens came close, Faith gritted her teeth. This was, after all, the only way she could save everyone else in the hotel. She reached out to grip the blade of the sword one girl carried, and yanked her forward. Chopping at her hand, she took the sword from her, then plunged the point into the girl's chest, killing her.
Tossing her body aside, she rounded on the last girl, who turned to run. Faith didn't bother with theatrics this time-she just took the sword and threw it straight at the girl's back. The redhead sank to the ground, dead, and Faith finally turned towards Becky, Dani, and the final potential, who's name she didn't know. She advanced on them, and Becky, who was being helped to her feet, glanced over and opened her mouth to scream.
Hear it, I'm screaming it You're heeding to it now
Hear it! I'm screaming it! You tremble at this sound
You sink into my clothes And this invasion Makes me feel Worthless, hopeless, sick
But nothing came out. An instant later, Faith's fist slammed into her ear, popping the eardrum, and she became a deadweight-literally-in the arms of the other two, her blood splashing across all of them. Dani tried to pull her away, thus leaving herself open to Faith. Faith pulled out her own dagger from the back of her pants, and reached out, slitting the brunette's throat. A faint whine in the air alerted her to where the blonde girl was-she spun in time to slap a crossbow bolt out of the air, and leapt over the body of the first girl she'd killed to reach her. She grabbed the crossbow and tore it from her hands, tossing it aside. She reached out and tugged the girl close. "Sorry-but it's for the best." And she plunged the dagger into her heart. Letting the body fall from her hold, she slowly began to walk backwards from the scene, eyes a little wide in shock at the carnage. As she cleared the area, the vampires came out from their hiding and descended upon the bodies-drinking, as agreed. The point had been to make it seem like the girls were ambushed by vampires...rather than one of their idols. Faith staggered away to lean against a building, hands resting on her knees-and still holding the bloody dagger. After a few deep breaths, she straightened and carefully wiped off the dagger, her eyes growing cold-it was the only way she could cope with what had just happened. As she had feared earlier, her old bloodlust slowly began to wake itself up again, and she glanced down at the blood on her hands and clothes. Hey, at least it matched. Sliding the dagger back into her pants, she headed for the hotel once again. Time for stage two. And she had a small idea of who to pick. When she reached the Hyperion, she headed inside one again, and this time made her way to the room of a certain girl-while making sure to avoid others. When she finally got to Constance's door, she took a small breath to prep herself, then knocked on the door rather harshly.
